  • Provision policy, programme, technical support to achieve outcomes and outputs of the Action Against Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling and the UNODC Programme for Central Asia aimed at strengthening the capacity of criminal justice practitioners to investigate and prosecute trafficking in persons through on-the-job mentoring and advisory services, as well as training initiatives;
  • Management day-to-day implementation and overall coordination of projects related to trafficking in persons within the framework of the Action Against Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling in the Central Asia region and support the implementation of trafficking in persons activities of the UNODC Programme for Central Asia.
  • Provision of substantive and technical expertise for the implementation of mentoring, advisory and training activities, including the collection and compilation of relevant background data and information, monitoring and evaluation;
  • Undertook associated research (including) desk research and assessment missions;
  • Attending and contribution to technical consultations with participating countries, donors, and other actors on measures against trafficking in persons and/or smuggling of migrants;
  • Support negotiations and consultations on anti-trafficking in persons issues, especially those concerning criminal justice, with relevant national authorities, international and non-governmental organizations, as required;
  • Development of documentation and analyses and collate papers/reports, including background materials, analytical and substantive documents and reports, documentation on training courses and meetings, briefing notes, working papers etc., linked to trafficking in persons and/or smuggling of migrants in Central Asia;
  • Designing and facilitation of the organization, and took part in the delivery of national, regional, and interregional level training activities for criminal justice practitioners, with a particular focus on trafficking in persons;
  • Maintaining constant liaison with all beneficiary agencies to ensure timely delivery of activities and provision of guidance to the executing agencies on routine implementation of projects activities;
  • Preparing periodic project progress reports and contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of activities;
  • Undertook outreach and dissemination activities, as required, and promote cooperation and continuous sharing of information;
  • Coordinated actions with relevant national authorities, other international organizations, and non governmental organizations, which carry out activities related to combating trafficking in persons at national and regional levels;
  • Proactive supportr and search opportunities for fundraising strategies on trafficking in persons; devise new concept notes and funding proposals to augment current project results;
  • Development of progress reports to donor organizations, monitoring, evaluation and lessons learned reports and other relevant program-related documents, including substantive correspondence for a) resource mobilization, b) partnership building, and c) reporting;
  • Review and coordination of procurement of goods and services to initiate activities, including drafting TORs and work specifications;
  • Representation the organization, if delegated and required, on behalf of UNODC, vis-a-vis other United Nations organizations, donor organizations, other international organizations, as well as national authorities and non-governmental organizations and endeavor to build professional relationships with local, regional, and national authorities in order to ensure the full participation of a broad spectrum of national leadership in the identification, planning, and execution of activities related to trafficking in persons and/or smuggling of migrants in Central Asia.

Accomplishments

Over the fifteen years, extensive experience in independent project management. This experience was instrumental in transforming the NATO-Russia Council Pilot Project on Counter-Narcotics Training of Afghan, Central Asian and Pakistani Personnel into an ongoing initiative in 2008. Furthermore, it facilitated the expansion of the project at the 2010 NRC Lisbon Summit. As a result of these efforts, the project became a flagship initiative of UNODC, NATO (21 NRC nations and Finland) and seven regional partners, with a budget of almost $10 million.
